Entanglement between two driven quantum dots mediated by a spherical metal nanoparticle

2015
We theoretically study the generation of quantum correlations in a hybrid system composed by two interacting semiconductor quantum dots mediated by a metal nanoparticle and coupled to an external applied continuous wave laser field. All interactions present in the system are treated using a semiclassical approximation. We report entanglement of formation which gives information about entanglement quantum correlations. We have found that for proper values of the characteristic parameters of the hybrid system and the intensity of the applied field we can produce steady state quantum correlations of significant value so that they can be useful in quantum information and computation processes.
