Pseudoxantoma elástico asociado a patología hepática. Comunicación de dos casos

El pseudoxantoma elastico es un trastorno hereditario del tejido conectivo que afecta la piel, la retina y el sistema cardiovascular. Se caracteriza por la calcificacion progresiva de las fibras elasticas y masiva acumulacion de proteoglicanos en la matriz extracelular. La expresion clinica y edad de inicio son variables. Se presentan dos casos de esta entidad en mujeres adultas con compromiso cutaneo y ocular, en ambas con antecedentes de hepatitis C (Dermatol. Argent., 2012, 18(4): 286-290). Palabras clave: pseudoxantoma elastico, estrias angioides. Abstra ct Pseudoxantoma elasticum is an hereditary disorder of the connective tissue affecting the skin, retina and cardiovascular system. It is haracterized by progressive calcification of elastic fibers and massive accumulation of proteglicans in extracellular matrix. The clinical features and age of onset are variable. We report two cases of this entity in adult female patients with cutaneous and ocular involvement, both with a previous history of hepatitis C (Dermatol. Argent., 2012, 18(4): 286-290).
