Single Crystal XRD Studies and Physical Properties of Potassium Ammonium L-Tartrate Crystals

A semi-organic nonlinear optical crystal of Potassi um Ammonium L-Tartrate (PAT) has been grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique. The crystal system and lattice parameters are determined from the single crystal X-ray diffractio n analysis. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) studi es confirm the various functional groups present in th e grown crystal. The optical transmittance is studi ed through UV Visible spectroscopy. The mechanical property of grown crystals is analyzed by Vicker's Microhardness method. The thermal behavior of the grown crystals is investigated by DTA and TGA analysis. The second harmonic generation is comfired by using Nd: YAG Laser and compared with KDP.
