Effect of Polymerization Process on Properties of Styrene-Acrylic Microemulsion

2021
In order to meet the needs of society, the development and application of water-based ink in the printing industry has become a research hotspot at home and abroad in recent years, as an important connecting material of water-based ink, acrylate microemulsions and their modified microemulsions have won the favor of researchers due to their low cost and excellent performance. The styrene-acrylic microemulsion was modified on the basis of the research of acrylate microemulsion, that is, styrene was used to replace part of acrylate monomers to improve the hot viscosity, cold Brittleness and cold Brittleness of acrylate microemulsion. The effects of four polymerization processes on the properties of the final emulsion were discussed. A novel styrene-acrylic microemulsion with 51 nm, PDI value of 0.034 and solid content of 40% was prepared by semi-continuous and non-pre-emulsifying method.
