Verification of personal handwriting characteristics for numerals and its application to recognition

Abstract Chracters written by the same writer are expected to have two characteristics. Characters belonging to the same category have similar shapes and characters belonging to different categories are correlated in shape to some extent. In this paper, these characteristics are quantitatively verified through shape quantification and are successfully applied to detect misrecognized patterns, difficult to detect by pattern information only.
