The invention discloses a medium-low voltage bus electrical arc light protection method and system. The system comprises a main control unit, wherein the input end of the main control unit is connected with at least one auxiliary unit; the output end of the main control unit is connected with at least one circuit breaker; each auxiliary unit is respectively connected with an arc light unit, a current unit and a current unit; the arc light unit is connected with an arc light sensor; the current unit is connected with a current sensor; and the current unit is connected with a temperature sensor. The light sensitive range sensitivity can be regulated between the arc light unit and the main control unit, the sensitivity is influenced by the arc light sensor and the length of an optical fiber, and the sensitivity can be regulated within the range of 10-50KLUX. The electrical arc light protection can rapidly remove the medium-low voltage bus stoppage, and the safety operation of a transmission and distribution power grid is ensured.
