Cardioacceleratory Peptide 2b
2016
Abstract CAP2b/CAPA was originally identified as a cardioaccelatory peptide in the moth. Further analyses have demonstrated that this peptide is a pleiotropic factor that influences diuresis to secrete fluid from the insect renal organ, the malpighian tubules, where its receptor is specifically expressed. Molecular biology has revealed that the CAPA precursor gene in D. melanogaster encodes not only CAPA subtype peptides but also the different bioactive peptide pyrokinin.
