A comparative analysis of the coastal fishing in the Crimea and in particular in Sevastopol area has been adduced. At the beginning of 21st century the catch of the most part of target species is from 10 up to 1,000 times less than 100 years ago or it is not available at all. The up-to-date fishing in the Crimea is based on the trawl fishing of the sprat on the shelf. The traditional coastal fishing is poorly developed.
