A Narrative Study of Chinese Pre-Service Science Teachers’ Cross-cultural Experiences in Canada

This narrative study explores the perspectives of Chinese science teacher candidates' cross-cultural learning experiences in Canada as they participate in a reciprocal learning program between the University of Windsor and the Southwestern University of China. Through multiple times of interview, observations, and participant journals, the study collects data that deliberate the exchange teacher candidates’ experiences and challenges they have through the three-month exchange program. Particularly, the study explores how the exchange program influence the participants’ perspective about science teaching and learning. Suggestions for improvement of such exchange change program will be also highlighted.
