Caracterización fisiológica de nuevos registros fúngicos de la atmósfera de La Habana, Cuba

2020
Aeromicological studies allow determining the diversity of fungi present in the air and their possible effect on plants, animals, humans or substrates that may suffer biodeterioration. These effects vary in relation to the type of fungus collected and are related to its physiological versatility. In the present work 12 isolates were collected with a viable volumetric sampler (Aeroscopio Chirana). Identification was carried out and they were characterized morpho-physiologically, with the determination of pathogenic and biodeteriorant attributes. Six species were registered for the first time in the atmosphere of Havana ( Aspergillus heteromorphus , A. ibericus , A. parasiticus , Penicillium arenicola , P. hirsutum and Cunninghamella echinulata ). The greatest physiological diversity was evident in Aspergillus spp. and Penicillium spp. Aspergillus heteromorphus CCMFB-815 was positive to all physiological tests and can therefore be used as a reference for future studies. Additionally, the relative density of these new records was analyzed, which contributes to the ecological knowledge of the viable aeromicobiota of Havana.
