Benceno Urinario, Estrés Oxidativo, Perfil Hematológico, Hepático y Renal en Trabajadores de Estaciones de Servicio

2018
Benzene is an aromatic hydrocarbon with high toxicological risk, so the biological monitoring of exposed workers, is of great importance to prevent health damage. Urinary levels of benzene (BU), oxidative stress, blood profi le, liver and kidney in service stations workers (Valencia-Venezuela northern area) were evaluated. This was a non-experimental, descriptive and correlational study. It involved 100 workers: 60 exposed (E) and 40 non-exposed (NE). BU was determined by gas chromatography coupled to mass in urine samples obtained at the end of the workday and blood were analyzed malondialdehyde (MDA), vitamin C (VC), blood profi le, liver and kidney. Data presented as frequencies, percentages, medians, means and standard deviation, showed: BU values in 17 workers E and these increased by occupation. MDA values were signifi cantly higher in E (p
