The optical connector

Disclosed is an optical connector (10) provided with: a housing (12); a photoelectric conversion circuit board (13) housed within the housing (12) and to which a photoelectric conversion element (27) is mounted; and a resin member that comprises a light transmissible synthetic resin. The resin member is attached to the surface of the photoelectric conversion circuit board (13) in a manner so as to cover the photoelectric conversion element (27), and is provided with a sleeve (34) to which a ferrule (19) mounted to the terminus of an optical fiber (18) is fitted. The axial line direction of the sleeve (34) is formed essentially perpendicularly to the surface of the photoelectric circuit board. In the resin member, a lens (39) is integrally formed at a position corresponding to the photoelectric conversion element (27) on the axial line of the sleeve (34).
