Most experts agree that the current health care model places too much emphasis on sickness and disease and not enough emphasis on prevention, health promotion and early intervention care. Consequently, millions of Americans, from all walks of life, do not receive appropriate care. The real challenge for the White House is moving from the expensive medical model of illness and cure to the model of wellness, prevention and community care.
