Synthesis, Crystal Growth, Structural, Spectral, Laser Threshold Energy and Dielectric Properties of Lithium L-tartrate Monohydrate Crystal

2020
Abstract Organic alkali-metal lithium L-tartrate monohydrate crystal has been grown by solution growth technique. The crystal structure was solved by single crystal X-ray diffraction using direct method procedure. From the FTIR analysis, O-H asymmetric stretching mode was observed at 3478 cm−1. The H⋯O/O⋯H interactions contain 57.2 % of the total area of Hirshfeld surface. The grown crystal has a positive solubility nature. The lithium L-tartrate monohydrate crystal has good transmittance in the visible region. The thermal stability was carried out using TG/DTA analysis. The crystal withstands the laser beam irradiation up to 35 mJ. The mechanical strength of the grown crystal was found out using hardness measurement. The piezoelectric experiment was carried out at room temperature (30°C). Chemical etching study was carried out using an optical microscope. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss have been analyzed from 40°C to 100°C.
