Hydrothermal synthesis of CuS/CoS nano composite as an efficient electrode for the supercapattery applications

2021
Abstract In the current study, an efficient composite of CuS/CoS petal-like nanoarchitectures was synthesized by the two-step facile hydrothermal route as a binder-free electrode for supercapattery applications. The phase, structural and morphological analyses revealed the nanocomposites of CuS/CoS facilitate the abundant intermittent spaces and redox-active sites responsible for their enhanced energy storage behaviour than CuS and CoS. This was further confirmed by the electrochemical measurements yielding the specific capacity of 138.75 mA h g−1 at a current density of 1 A g−1 with an excellent capacity retention of 87.56% and cycling stability of 94.28% over 4000 cycles. The power-law elucidated in the current work demonstrated the nanohybrid CuS/CoS is the best suit for supercapattery applications.
