Biomass Monitoring and CHO Cell Culture Optimization Using Capacitance Spectroscopy

Viable cell concentration is one key variable to monitor during animal cell culture processes and is strongly linked to process productivity. In batch and fed-batch cultures, on-line viable cell density data can be used to determine the most adequate harvest time. Furthermore, in fed-batch and perfusion cultivations, on-line biomass data can be used to define the bioreactor feeding strategy and to maximize productivity.
