A Comprehensive Experimental Teaching System Based on RTDS

This paper introduced the structures and features of the comprehensive experimental teaching system based on RTDS and its applications in experimental teaching.Compared with the traditional dynamic simulation experimental teaching,this system has a lot of advantages: it can simulate bigger power system,students can do operations in person and design the model’s structures and parameters by them selves,the control and protection equipments can be connect-ed to the RTDS and do real-time closed-loop tests,the construction of the simulation model and the parameter’s setup are very flexible,the experimental contents are wide.We can get better results in developing the students’big power system ideas,and improving the students’abilities on problem analysis and solving,and their operation and innovation ability.
