Обсерватория для мониторинга озонового слоя Земли в миллиметровом диапазоне длин волн в Среднеазиатском регионе

2007
The first millimeter waveband observatory in the Central Asian region designed for remote monitoring of the Earths ozone layer was set up and put into service during 2003-2006 on the northern shore of Lake Issyk Kul (near the village Karaoi in Kyrgyzstan). The Project (KR-634) was supported by ISTC. We describe here the observatory and its equipment, measurement procedures of ozone vertical profile and total content. The data obtained are compared with the results of satellite measurements of similar parameters of the ozone layer above the Karaoi site and with other ground-based microwave measurements. Possible reasons for revealed data discrepancies and further research plans are discussed.
