Design Issues on Error Control Mechanisms for High-speed Networks

1994
This paper examines the design requirements of error control protocol for operation in a high-speed environment. The changes in the characteristics of high-speed networks have a major impact on the design of a efficient, high performance error control protocol. In response to these design requirements, the paper presents a high performance error control protocol, TRAPS, that is designed to exploit the evolving characteristics of future high-speed networks.
