Establishment of A Multi-PCR method for the detection of Enterococcus and the main virulence genes

2012
Four pairs of primers, which were respectively specific for the genus of Enterococcus as well as the three main virulence genes cylA、e.sp and AS,were designed based on the gene sequences published on the GenBank database. A multi-PCR method which can be used for a simultaneous detection was set up after improving the extraction of model DNA and optimizing the reaction conditions. The method was used in the identification of the supposed Enterococcal isolates, and was proved to be rapid and reliable.Among the isolates of different origins, the carriage rates of the three virulence genes in the clinically isolated strains(84.2%,55.7%and 27.1%respectively) were higher than in those of flesh or fecal origins;moreover, cylA was present most predominantly among the three virulence gene.
