Es un efecto secundario frecuente y grave asociado al tratamiento oncologico, que aumenta al ser tratado con radioterapia y quimioterapia concomitantemente. Una de las opciones de tratamiento es con el laser de baja energia, tecnica sencilla y no invasiva que promueve el alivio del dolor y reduce la severidad. EnglishThe oral induced mucositis is an inflammatory reaction of the oral mucosa that produces the destruction of the basal keratinocytes. Such reaction is a common and serious side effect associated during the treatment of cancer that increases the effects when the patient is treated concomitantly with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Among the different treatments, one option is the use of low energy laser treatment. It is a simple and noninvasive technique that promotes pain relief and reduces the severity of the oral Mucositis.
