Análise de conforto térmico em edificações construídas com rejeitos da mineração de ferro

Recent environmental disasters in Minas Gerais have boosted studies and initiatives that investigate the use of iron ore tailings. The construction of prototype houses for testing new building materials that use ore tailings is among the existing initiatives. The present study analyzes the thermal performance of these dwellings using simulations carried out with Energyplus v.8.8 software and according to RTQ-R (BRASIL, 2012). Three bioclimatic zones present in Minas Gerais State were analyzed. Results obtained indicate that constructive systems that use iron ore tailings in the composition of blocks and mortar may prove to be an appropriate solution for use in civil construction.
