Integration of microgrid with utility grid for sharing real and reactive power

2015
In this paper voltage source converters (VSCs) are being used in grid integrated power converters. For the mathematical model of PWM inverter under the d-q rotary coordinate system. This work has proposed a Microgrid power flow control under variable load and generation conditions. There exists coupling between the active current and reactive current, which makes it difficult to manipulate the power injected into utility grid from distributed generation system. The control of active & reactive power between inverter and utility grid using the "d-q" theory has been proposed. By using "d-q" theory inverter variables are converted in "d-q" frame and the control over exchange of active and reactive power is achieved using "d-q" variables. The variations in the different parameters and variables during different operating condition is required to be observed for stable operation of power system. In this study the test system contains solar cell, RL load and grid has been simulated in Matlab/Simulink.
