To Quantify Share of illicit Cigarettes Use in Islambad ICT

To quantify the share of illicit cigarettes use in Islambad Capital Territory (ICT), a cmbine method of consumer survey and cigarette pack observation was used in 30 clusters (1,200HHs) of Islabmbad. The key findings of study reveal that prevelance of illicit cigarette us in Islabad ICT is 15.5% which is significantly below the much propagated figure of 43.7 & by tobacco industry. The further results have established that smoking is inversely relatd to academic qualification and price. Tobacco industries alwalys partraed high figures of illicit trade (as it is global phenomenon) to strenghthen its case to the introduction of 3ed Tier FED structure in result prices of cigarette dropped anf consumption inreased & loss in Government revenues.
