One-Pot Syntheses of 1H-Pyrazolo[1,2-B]Phthalazine-5,10-Diones and 2-H-Indazolo[2,1-B]Phthalazine-1,6,11(13-H)-Triones in Water by Auto Catalysis

The title compounds are synthesized in an one-pot, four component reaction of phthaloyl dichloride (I) , hydrazine hydrate, various aryl aldehydes (II) and malononitrile (III), ethyl cynoacetate (V) or dimedone (VII) in refluxing water.
