Progress in therapeutic evaluation of Terminalia arjuna plant extracts and characterization of their chemical constituents

The extracts from different parts of Terminalia arjuna has been used for the treatment of various ailments, particularly the aqueous extract of bark is mainly used for the treatment of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Identification of active constituents has provided the chemical information of different extracts. In this review, therapeutic potential of different extracts of this plant their chemical constituent indentified has been discussed in detail.
