Student attitude and achievement with computer-based instrumentation

2012
This quasi-experimental research studied the cognitive and affective domains of achievement in engineering laboratories whileemploying computer-based and traditional oscilloscopes. 61 students from two courses, electrical engineering for non-majors andelectronic fundamentals, were randomly assigned into treatment and comparison groups. The students’ knowledge and attitudeswere gauged using assessment instruments and an attitudinal survey. These results were statistically analyzed and conclusions arediscussed. The results suggest that computer-based instruments are viable in engineering laboratories.
