Effets de la nicotine intraveineuse sur l'E.E.G. humain

1978
Summary The effect of intravenous nicotine tartrate at a small dose (1 mg), close to the quantity of nicotine inhaled when smoking a low alcaloid and tar content cigarette, was revealed by mimetic analysis. In both smokers and non-smokers it is mainly marked by a progressive decrease in mean amplitude for rhythms alpha and theta, and by an increase in theta abundance, especially for smokers. These effects are short-lived. Moreover, smokers and non-smokers appear to be distinct from the start, as mean amplitude of alpha rhythm is 25 p. 100 larger in non-smokers previous to the nicotine injection.
