Implementation and development of synchrophasor measurement technology allows to include the task of low frequency oscillations (LFO) monitoring in large power systems into electrical mode control processes. Development of the LFO parameters identifying tool in real-time operation provides following possibilities: estimation of power system oscillation stability; prevention of poorly damped oscillations evolution; obtaining the adaptive power system mode control to increase damping properties by means of adjusting synchronous generators AVR (automatic voltage regulator) parameters in power plants; to adjust voltage and current of HVDC links, lines and FACTS objects. Analyzing of power system electrical mode actual parameters is the base for control decisions made by dispatch staff and an information platform for operation of RPA (relay protection and automation) and mode and emergency control automatics for the purpose of quality and reliability control of Russian UPS electrical mode.
