Salicylates are widely used in the medical industry thanks to their analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and antithrombotic properties. Salicylates are also used for non-medical purposes such as making pickles and keeping plants in food and agricultural industry.  Acute high-dose intake may lead to clinical situations such as nausea, vomiting, tinnitus and hearing loss, respiratory alkalosis, metabolic acidosis, hypoglycemia, hyperthermia, lethargy, seizures, coma, and death. In this paper, we present a case of salicylate intoxication due to the accidental use of the commercial bag form of powdered salicylic acid which is used for making pickles.
