Regulating effect of sulfated total saponin of panax ginseng on function of immune competent cell: an in vitro experiment.

2009
To evaluate the regulating effect of sulfated total saponin of panax ginseng(sTSPG) on the function of immune competent cell in vitro, the effect of 4 derivatives of TSPG on the proliferation and transformation of lymphocytes was determined by MTT assay and morphologic observation, the effect of TSPG and derivatives on the killing activity of NK cell was determined by lactate dehydrogenase releasing assay. The results showed that TSPG did not mark effect on the proliferation of lymphocytes, and inhibit the proliferation of lymphocytes at higher concentration(P0.01),while the lymphocyte proliferation were significantly enhanced by sTSPG-2,-3 higher than by TSPG,respectively(P0.05,P0.01).The results showed that sTSPG-2,-3 promoted the killing activity of NK cell stronger than TSPG too(P0.05,P0.01).These data suggest that the regulating effect of sTSPG on the function of immune competent cell in vitro is higher than that of TSPG.
