She enjoyed her job as an administrative assistant and worked for a firm that she really loved, but after four years she was making only $ 30,000 a year. She thought about how she wanted to do better financially for herself and for her son, Andre, who was eight years old. She loved to read about art, to visit art museums, and to draw and paint.
