Change of consciousness in subjects regarding participation in clinical trials

2011
We investigated the consciousness for patients with the experience that the subjects participated in clinical trial and/or clinical studies. We mailed a question paper to subjects with a reply envelope, and subsequently obtained their answer. The subjects were 25 people who were outpatients of Tokushima National Hospital and who had participated in a clinical trial. The age of the subjects was 46-82 years old (average of 66.6 years old). There were 16 men, and 9 women. After clinical trial participation, recognition of the investigational need rose. The patients who understood clinical trials were used for "the development of better therapy" were most common. Many patients felt that clinical trials were imminent and that they would participate if there was an opportunity. The data obtained this time should inflect in service and the publicity work to the subjects for trial in the future.
