Method and system for acquiring position information of user terminal

The invention discloses a method for acquiring position information of a user terminal. The method includes that A, an evolved node initiates a control instruction for measuring auxiliary position information for positioning to the user terminal; and B, the auxiliary position information measured by the user terminal in response to the control instruction is received. The accurate position information can be acquired via linkage of the user terminals, the evolved node, operation administration and maintenance and an evolved serving mobile location center, accordingly, dependence on position information of a global navigation satellite system is relieved, and the accuracy of the position information is improved. In addition, the invention discloses a system for acquiring the position information of the user terminal.
