Converter transformer DC magnetic bias electrical current practical test method

2007
A test method for the DC magnetic biasing current tolerance ability of a converter transformer for DC high voltage transmission adopts two same converter transformers to form a DC circuit, and an AC voltage source and a DC current source are simultaneously introduced into the test circuit to avoid the test realization failure due to the oversize power of the DC current source. Firstly, the network side high voltage ends of the two same converter transformers are connected through a wire, a rated AC voltage is applied , and a current source capable of outputting due direct current is arranged in series between the neutral points. The DC magnetic biasing current tolerance ability of the converter transformer can be verified through measuring the loss, vibration and oil chromatographic analysis of each converter transformer during the test. The test method can be applicable to common AC transformers.
