High-strain-rate Constitutive Parameters of 6061 Aluminum Alloys

2011
Dynamic tensile mechanical behaviors of 6061 aluminum alloy have been studied by tensile impact test at strain rate of 0.001~1 500 s-1 under natural aging and artificial aging conditions.Johnson-Cook constitutive model can more accurately describe the dynamic mechanical behaviors of 6061 aluminum alloy during impact loading.Based on the experimental data, the constitutive parameters of natural aging and artificial aging 6061 aluminum alloy were obtained. The results show that Johnson-Cook constitutive model is applicable to describe the dynamic deformation behaviors of metallic materials from the low strain rate to high strain rate and can also be used for quasi-static deformation analysis.
