A method for preparing electrophoretic coatings for titanium dioxide pigments were prepared by the chloride process rutile titanium dioxide product early to prepare a slurry, adjusting the pH by adding silicate dispersant, grinding process after the dispersion; the milled heating the slurry, a water soluble aluminate partial solution to adjust the pH value, aging, titanium dioxide particles coated on the surface of hydrated alumina; a water soluble aluminate partial solution to adjust the pH value, the ripening, alumina hydrate The second layer is coated boehmite or pseudo-boehmite type alumina; adjusting the final pH, aging; washed with water, filtered and dried to powder by steam treatment to prepare electrophoretic coatings for titanium dioxide pigment. The method to obtain titanium dioxide pigment having excellent light resistance, tinting strength and hiding power, and the product was blue bottom phase, high resistivity, good dispersion properties, meet the requirements of high-grade electrophoretic coating area.
