The structure of filled compositions based on polyvinylchloride

1981
Abstract Results are presented for electron microscopic studies of compositions based on PVC, filled with highly dispersed silica and elastomer fillers and obtained by processing in the viscous-flows state. It was shown that the cellular character of three-dimensional structure of fillers was dependent on the preservations during processing of the globular supermolecular structure of PVC, the same as for compositions containing fillers with a different surface nature. Raising the temperature of the melt and the thermodynamic quality of the plasticiser promote the rupture of the globular PVC structure and consequently the three-dimensional structure of the filler phase becomes less pronounced.
