Researches concerning the pheromonal control of summer fruit tortrix moth (Adoxophyes orana, Hb) using the biotechnique "Attract and kill".

2009
First results regarding the efficiency of the “Attract and kill” bio-technique was effectuated in 2008 at the Fruit Research-Development Station Bistrita. The product named “ AR Message” was elaborated by the researchers from the Institute of Chemistry Raluca Ripan, Cluj. The strategy of attraction and massive destroying through the bio-technique “Attract and kill” is based on the concept of combining two effects: the attraction through a synthetic pheromone of the adult male moths and the mass destroying of these with the aim of an insecticide . The observations effectuated in the research plot in 2008 shows that although the flying diagram of the adult male moths was on medium level the “Attract and kill” bio-technique gave good results in the control of the high damage creating first generation ( G1) and also at the second generation (G2). Additional results revealed a distinctive orientation for damaging of the summer tortrix moth male adults toward the two treatment cultivars from the experiment.
