The invention relates to a steering apparatus for adjusting a wheel lock angle of at least one wheel of a motor vehicle, in particular a rear wheel, comprising at least one wheel guide member, via which a wheel carrier of the wheel is connected to a vehicle body, wherein the wheel carrier is pivotable about a substantially parallel to the wheel plane axis of rotation and the wheel guide member spaced from the axis of rotation is articulated to a wheel carrier. The steering apparatus is characterized in that the wheel guide member by means of an electric motor is adjustable in its length, with a valve disposed on the wheel guide member gear due to rotation of a drive shaft of the electric motor causes a change in length of the wheel guide member, which leads to a change in the wheel lock angle of the wheel, and wherein the electric motor is fixed to the vehicle body and a drive shaft of the electric motor is connected via a transmission element to the transmission.
