Effect of variable specific rate constant in non uniform catalysts
1977
Abstract The variation of the intrinsic rate constant with the concentration of active species has a special significance in non uniform catalysts. The influence of this effect on the activity and selectivity for consecutive reactions has been studied theoretically. New Thiele type moduli are postulated, in order to carry out the study. The variation of the rate constant has an important effect on the effectiveness-factor of single reactions, but it is irrelevant, compared with “standard” nonuniform catalyst performances, on reaction selectivity.
