Sugar analysis method and sugar analyzer

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for analyzing minute amounts of sugar chains with high sensitivity by ceaseless CE-MS. SOLUTION: There is provided a sugar chain analysis method for analyzing a sample containing a sugar chain by an analysis apparatus including a capillary for electrophoresis, a discharge part connected to the one end of the capillary, and a mass spectroscopy part having an opening disposed so as to not contact to the tip of the discharge part. The method includes a step of introducing the sample from the end of the capillary opposite to the end connected to the discharge part, a step of electrophoresing sugar chain in the introduced sample in the capillary and discharge part by applying an electrophoresis current to the capillary and discharge part filled with an electrophoresis buffer, and a step of introducing the electrophoresis buffer containing sugar chain after the electrophoresis to the opening by discharging from the tip of the discharge part without applying a voltage to the discharge part. The inner diameter of the tip of the discharge part is from 50 to less than 100% of the inner diameter of the capillary. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
