Vacinação influenza e o coeficiente de mortalidade por doenças respiratórias em idosos no Brasil

The present study aimed to verify the interplay between influenza vaccination and mortality rates due to respiratory diseases among Brazilian older adults. Observational study (longitudinal ecological type), using data obtained from secondary and ministerial public databases. Among the older adults, there was no correlation between cumulative vaccination coverage and mortality rates owing to respiratory diseases. Nonetheless, an increase in respiratory-related mortality rates was noticed across age strata, with the highest scores among men and those living in the Southern and Southeastern regions.
