The invention provides a wide-bodied tunnel kiln for roasting lateritic nickel ore. The tunnel kiln comprises a kiln body, a burner and a trolley, wherein a burning space is limited in the kiln body, the width of the kiln body is 5 to 10 meters, the height of the kiln body is 2 to 5 meters, and the length of the kiln body is 40 to 250 meters; the burner is arranged on the kiln body; and the trolley is movably arranged in the burning space. By using the wide-bodied tunnel kiln for roasting the lateritic nickel ore, the lateritic nickel ore can be efficiently roasted.
