Pathological Classification of Renal Duplication and Its Clinical Significance

A study of 32 cases with renal duplication was reported.According to its pathological features, 3 typies were clas-sified, disdeveloped, developed and hydronephrotic type.The developed type could be well diagnosed by means ofintrovenous urography (IVP) and SPECT. The relation-ship between these types with the images of IVP andSPECT and the choice of operation was discussed. Ifa kidney displaced low and laterally on IVP image orthere was a delayed SPECT image the renal duplicationshould be considered.
