MANAGEMENT PROCEDURES USED BY NONPROFITS ORGANIZATIONS OF THE CITY Of PASSO FUNDO - RS

This article aims to indentify management procedures used by nonprofit organizations from Passo Fundo city, state of Rio Grande do Sul. The management techniques used by the third sector have its own specific way of management, because it is an organization dedicated to the social aspect, non-profit, and a line of consistent management for entities of this sector may be derived from three concepts: mission, goals and strategy, which constitute the basic elements for a strategic management. It was used a descriptive research and quantitative approach in the organizations of Passo Fundo city using the research instrument adapt from Longstreth, Ward e Lightner (2005). Managers from 12 organizations, out of 53, were interviewed, representing a sample of accessibility. It was found that most administrators do not have academic training related to the management area and practically all the organizations have formed tasks. It was observed that organizations have formalized strategic planning, however, in need of improvement. It is concluded that there is management practices that should be improved or even implemented, and the most important is to have people with experience in the management area, since there may be an influence on organizational performance.
