Solid solutions in the system PbSc/sub 1/2Nb/sub 1/2O/sub 3/-PbSc/sub 1/2O/sub 3/

In the system PbSc/sub 1/2Nb/sub 1/2O/sub 3/-PbSc/sub 1/2Sb/sub 1/2O/sub 3/, solid solutions are formed throughout the range of concentrations. By x-ray diffraction and dielectric measurements and by study of the second harmonic generation signal intensity of specimens of the system it is confirmed that the character of ordering of cations in the BO/sub 6/ octahedra influences the dependence T/sub C/(x) and the dielectric properties of the solid solutions. The studied specimens, characterized by ordered arrangement of the cations Sc/sup 3 +/, Nb/sup 5 +/, and Sb/sup 5 +/, display preferentially antiferroelectric properties
