Índice de consanguinidad y caracterización fenotípica y genética de la raza bovina criolla Blanco Orejinegro
2006
Phenotypic and genetic parameters were analysed in a Colombian Blanco Orejinegro creole cattle population from 1980 to 2004. Average birth weight was 27.54 ± 3.72 kg, having a12.30% variation coefficient (vc). Birth weight-related genetic values presented a moderate 7 g increase and 0.394 ± 0.050 total heritability. Mean adjusted weaning weight was 165 ± 29.16 kg, with 29.16% vc, 263 g annual genetic value growth and 0.187 ±0.056 heritability. Mean adjusted yearling weight (16 months, 480 days) was 215 ± 30.57 kg, with 12.47% vc, 7 g annual growth rate and 0.0957 ± 0.050 heritability. Economically important production traits were phenotypically and genetically correlated; the high correlation between adjusted weaning weight and adjusted yearling weight is worth noting (0.758 and 0.785, respectively). There was a 0.0068 ± 0.021 consanguinity coefficient for the Blanco Orejinegro creole breed from 1982 to 2004, having a 0.00218 increase in generational interval.
