PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display method capable of performing a further improvement.SOLUTION: A display method receives a video signal containing a second brightness signal which is contained in first meta data of the first brightness signal and corresponds to a second brightness value converted by brightness conversion processing determined according to a reference brightness value corresponding to reference reflectivity out of plural brightness conversion processing for converting a first brightness value represented by a first brightness signal to a second brightness value corresponding to a second brightness range defined to have a second maximum value which is smaller than the first maximum brightness value and larger than 100 nit in a first video comprising a first brightness value in a first brightness range defined to have a first maximum brightness value exceeding 100 nit, determines a brightness value by brightness conversion processing to the brightness value which corresponds to at least one of a brightness range having the maximum brightness value defined at 100 nit or a brightness range having a maximum brightness value defined by the display capability of a display device, and displays a second video based on the determined brightness value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 21
