Prevalence of Childhood and Adolescent Behavioural Problems

To find out level of Prevalence among Childhood and Adolescent Behavioural Problems this study was undertaken. Participant:-The sample is drawn from the population of students pursuing mentally challenged school Student in Aurangabad city. For this investigation sample of 140 subjects has taken. Purposive sampling method was used for this study. Analysis of Data:-The data were analyzed with the help to descriptive statistics i.e. means and SDs for behavioural problems. To evaluate variables wise difference in behavioural problems, „f‟ test has been carried out by using SPSS. The three hypotheses formulated were tested at .01 level of significant. Conclusions: - In the present study the mentally challenged girls showed higher behavioural problems than mentally challenged boys. It means girls have to face more difficulties in families. Mentally challenged Adolescents have more behavior problems than mentally challenged childhood which means adolescents have increased needs than children. So they have more behavioural problems than children. Gender and age also play a significant role in behavioural problems of mentally challenged population. On the basis of these findings, it was recommended that school Guidance Counselors should be employed in all schools and that they should provide necessary assistance to students especially those mentally challenged.
